New couple alert: Manchester City footballer Wayne Bridge and pop star Frankie Sandford leave a pub in Alderley Edge, Cheshire
With David and Victoria Beckham living in the U.S. and Cheryl and Ashley Cole's divorce, Britain has been lacking a footballer-pop star coupling.
But it appears the gap may now be filled by The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford, 21, and Manchester City footballer Wayne Bridge, 30.
The new couple were spotted heading back to Bridge's mansion in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, after enjoying a romantic pub lunch yesterday.
The couple enjoyed a lazy lunch in a local pub, before walking hand-in-hand back to the footballer's £2million home.
Unlike typical WAGs with their hair extensions and glamorous outfits, Sandford looked casual in a pair of skinny jeans and brown hooded cardigan.
Their pub outing comes a few days after they were spotted picking up a DVD from a local Blockbuster rental store.
An onlooker said: 'They looked completely smitten and were very touchy-feely. They do make a great looking couple.'

The singer's burgeoning relationship comes less than two months after she dumped ex-boyfriend Dougie Poynter who she shared a North London flat with.
The Essex-native and McFly bassist, 23, first split in March last year after 20 months together, but reunited a few weeks later, before breaking up again in late November.
A heartbroken Poynter said this week: 'Of course I was gutted about the break-up.
'It was totally unexpected and I really thought things were going well between us. It was bad timing just before Christmas too.
'I didn't fit in with The Saturdays and JLS crowd and party scene anyway.'
Come over all shy? Frankie tries to hide under the cardigan... or maybe she was just cold
Although Bridge split from ex-fiancee Vanessa Perroncel in 2009, he was devastated after she was romantically linked to former Chelsea teammate John Terry in February.
The revelations prompted Bridge to withdraw from the England team, with Terry being sacked as captain by boss Fabio Capello.
However, French model Perroncel - mother of Bridge's four-year-old son Jaydon - has repeatedly insisted she did not have an affair with married father-of-two Terry.
She said during an interview on GMTV in August: 'Friends, we were friends. That's what we were.'
Asked whether she had had an affair with the married father of twins, she replied: 'No, I think I made that clear.
'I denied that from the start but people didn't want to hear. I've never said, "Oh yes, I've had an affair with John Terry," I said, "No, he was my friend.'''
