On the road again: After his car crash David Beckham treats the boys to ice cream

By ANDREA MAGRATH

Frozen treat: David Beckham takes sons Romeo and Cruz and the family dog Coco to Pinkberry in Studio City for frozen yoghurt

His 'lucky escape' last week from a multi-car collision on a busy Los Angeles freeway fortunately hasn't scared off David Beckham from getting behind the wheel.

The footballer was pictured taking two of his sons, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, six, out for frozen yoghurt in Studio City, California yesterday.

A few hours later he chauffeured his wife Victoria to dinner at Matsuhisa restaurant in Beverly Hills.

Beckham wears his favourite black beanie for the trip to Pinkberry. Eldest son Brooklyn didn't join the boys' outing

The family dog Coco joined Beckham and the boys for the trip to Pinkberry, where they often stop off for a frozen treat.

Eldest son Brooklyn, who was with Beckham when the accident occurred on Friday, did not join the outing.

Date night: Beckham later drove his pregnant wife Victoria to dinner at Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills

Mrs Beckham sat in the back seat while her husband drove to Matsuhisa - part of the Nobu franchise.

The collision happened after a gold Mitsubishi stalled in the fast lane due to mechanical problems, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.

She said: 'Yesterday at approximately 9.13am Beckham was involved with a collision on the southbound 405 Freeway just south of Artesia Boulevard.'

She added: 'The biggest commotion was when people realised it was David Beckham.'

‘David’s car was taken away from the scene by a tow truck. It had lost a front bumper in the collision.’

'I would love to talk to Brad and Angelina': Cher's son Chaz wants to support tomboy Shiloh

By Daily Mail Reporter

Growing up as the daughter of famous parents, Cher's son Chaz Bono knows only too well how the pressures of celebrity can complicate life.

Now the 42-year-old, who was christened Chastity, has offered to help Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie with any issues their daughter Shiloh may struggle with.

The four-year-old has received attention for her tomboy style, which caused Bono to comment.

'I would love to talk to [Brad and Angelina] at some point,' Bono told E! News. 'To at least let them know we have this resource for them if they ever need it.'

Bono does volunteer work for a support group which helps children with gender identity issues and their families.

He adds: 'People get too freaked out about kids and what to do with kids. If you just let kids do what they need to do they usually have the right idea.'

Jolie - who has six children with Pitt - has previously revealed that she encourages her eldest biological child to embrace her tomboy style.

'She wants to be a boy,' she told Vanity Fair in August. 'So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she's one of the brothers.'

Apparently coining a new fashion term, she said: 'Shiloh, we feel, has Montenegro style.'

'She dresses like a little dude. It's how people dress there. She likes tracksuits, she likes [regular] suits.'

Anguish: Chaz Bono opens up to Oprah about his transition from female to male on Monday's show

'My body betrayed me': Bono told Oprah about his terrible teenage years

But Jolie made it clear she wasn't concerned, saying she sees much of her creative self in her daughter.

'Shiloh’s hysterically funny, one of the goofiest, most playful people you’ll ever meet,' she says.

'Goofy and verbal, the early signs of a performer. I used to get dressed up in costumes and jump around.'

As a child Bono was spotted regularly - all blonde locks and cutesy smile - on her parents TV show in the seventies.

But in a moving new interview, he told Oprah Winfrey that he felt his body was 'literally betraying' him when he went through puberty, as he watched in horror as it changed shape from athletic to curvy.

However he paid tribute to his 64-year-old mother by admitting: 'There's no doubt about her love for me.'

'It was just horrifying to me,' Bono said. 'You have this image of yourself and all of a sudden your body does the exact opposite of what you feel.'

Bono, who has chosen to tell his story in the documentary Becoming Chaz, which premieres tomorrow on Winfrey's OWN channel, said he first decided to become a lesbian, an identity he says 'worked for a little while'.

'I always had this idea that, sure, I wished I was a boy and felt more like a boy and all of that. But I wasn't, so I would deal with it. And I for some reason thought there were other lesbians that felt that way and that was just part of that community,' he said.

Thrilled: Bono underwent breast removal surgery as part of his sex change, but has no plans to go under the knife again

'Then I started to realise, no, that isn't what a lesbian is at all. That's what being transgender is.'

He also revealed that Cher was 'unbelievably cool' when he told her about the sex change, which involved breast removal surgery but no work on his female genitalia.

But he admitted that the legendary star started to pull away when she saw the first effects of the testosterone injections.

'When my voice started to change, I think, is when it really hit her,' he admitted to Winfrey.

He added: "The hard thing for my mom, I think, is that because she's a public figure and because she has this personality of kind of being so cool about stuff and progressive, people forget that she's a parent.'

Love: Bono says girlfriend Jennifer Elia found the change hard at first, but they're fine now

'Saying it with a deeper voice didn't mean the same': Elia struggled when her girlfriend became a man

'This is an incredibly difficult process for parents, the truth is that a lot of parents never speak to their transgender kids again,' Bono explained.

Before adding with a smile: 'That's not the case in my family, there's no doubt about her love for me.'

He then revealed that Cher has come to terms with Bono's transformation, even agreeing to be interviewed for the documentary, which has ultimately, made her proud.

'She really liked it a lot,' Bono said. 'But I think it was probably hard to see.'

Proud mother: Cher and Chaz at her hand and footprint ceremony in Hollywood and, right, Chaz when he was Chastity. Cher was 'unbelievably cool' about his transformation, said Chaz

His girlfriend Jennifer Elia, whom he began dating in 2005 while still a woman, has also come to terms with the change, despite initial problems.

Bono explained: 'Saying the same things that I would have before with a deeper voice and as more of a man didn't mean the same thing to her.

'We had to really almost relearn how to communicate and how to be around each other,' he said, with Elia sitting by his side.

He also releases a book about his experience, 'Transition: The Story of How I Became a Man,' this week.

Well if it ain't broke: Carol Vorderman squeezes into her favourite Roland Mouret dress

By Daily Mail Reporter

Wiggle: Carol Vorderman strutted in her extremely tight Roland Mouret Galaxy dress

She told the Daily Mail last year that when she wears her favourite figure-hugging dress, it gets her in the papers.

One wonders if this if what Carol Vorderman had in mind when she trotted out her tried-and-tested Roland Mouret Galaxy dress yesterday for an evening out in London.

It seems a case of 'If it ain't broke don't fix it' for the 50-year-old as stepped out the frock, which undeniably flatters her curves.

The TV presenter has been spotted in the outfit on a number of occasions, and last night showed off her enviable hourglass figure to perfection as she met girlfriend Michelle Mone and Yvie Burnett for drinks at Scott's in Mayfair.

She teamed the dress, a favourite of Cameron Diaz, Demi Moore, Scarlett Johansson and Rachel Weisz when it hit stores in 2005, with towering nude heels.

She told the Daily Mail: 'I bought it when it first came out, and years later I still make it into the papers when I wear it.

Girls on the town: Carol enjoyed drinks at Scott's in Mayfair with Michelle Mone and Yvie Burnett

'Having been on Countdown for so long, I learnt to gather classic pieces that could be mixed and matched easily.'

Carol sticks to her winning formula of body-skimming designer dresses by Roland Mouret, Herve Leger and Victoria Beckham.

She says: 'They’re not cheap, but I can still wear them years later without looking dated. It’s simple Forties styling.

Catch up: The TV presenter and lingerie mogul greeted each other warmly

'Above the knee is fine if you’re in your 20s, but I don’t feel it’s overly appropriate at my age.'

It's advice her friend, Yvie Burnett does not appear to agree with.

The X Factor vocal coach wore a short hot pink dress with towering spiked Christian Louboutin heels for the girls night out - but did stick to the 'legs or cleavage' rule by keeping her upper half covered up.

Ultimo boss Michelle Mone was slightly more casual in dark jeans and a T-shirt with patent black heels.

If it ain't broke: The 50-year-old admits the dress, which she was wearing to events as far back as 2005, is a tried-and-tested favourite

Curves on show: Carol also favours Victoria Beckham frocks

Elegant: She says of her style, 'Above the knee is fine if you’re in your 20s, but I don’t feel it’s overly appropriate at my age'

Cheryl Cole makes a fashion faux pas in unflattering grey tracksuit

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Is that you, Cheryl? Ms Cole made something of a fashion faux pas in a grey tracksuit as she flew back to the UK

She was obviously thinking she'd go for comfort ahead of her long-haul flight back to the UK.

But Cheryl Cole made something of a fashion faux pas in an unflattering grey tracksuit as she left the U.S. and headed back to London.

The 27-year-old singer hid her petite frame in the unattractive zip top and jogging bottoms combination.

Not a good look: Cheryl teamed the tracksuit with a pair of heeled boots

And the only hint of Cheryl's now-renowned sense of style came with the black boots she teamed the outfit with, as well as her designer white handbag.

But Cheryl seemed happy enough with her outfit, keeping her head down but managing a smile for photographers as she made her way through Los Angeles' LAX Airport.

In disguise: Cheryl tried to go incognito in a pair of huge sunglasses

And it's no wonder the singer is smiling, as she has won rave reviews already for her part on X Factor USA.

Cheryl flew out to LA the day after it was announced that she would be joining the judging panel alongside Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and LA Reid.

Can't you see anything? Cheryl, who was wearing dark sunglasses, is guided through the airport

Glamour girl: Cheryl's dressed-down look was in sharp contrast to her appearance at the X Factor USA auditions last week

And while Cheryl's involvement in the show has already been a success, she met criticism from some viewers when she sat next to Simon on the panel - the seat usually reserved for Paula Abdul.

An insider told MailOnline: 'The fans are angry because Cheryl is sitting next to simon.

'They call Paula and Simon "Saula" and think that Cheryl is splitting them up.'

Loose Women meet loose women...as TOWIE's Billie and Sam Faiers give verdicts on rival show Made In Chelsea

By Jody Thompson

Partners in crime: Sam Faiers and sister Billie were on Loose Women today - and Billie gave her verdict on rival reality show Made In Chelsea

They're two of ITV's most-loved shows - and it was definitely a meeting of minds when Loose Women hosted sisters Sam and Billie Faiers from The Only Way Is Essex today.

The pair were on the show as fans still mourn last week's TOWIE series finale - and Billie gave her verdict on Channel Four's new posh version of the show.

Talking to show hosts Carol McGiffin, Andrea McLean, Cilla Black and Denise Welch, she said of last night's Made In Chelsea: 'The set up is very similar to The Only Way Is Essex, but it's completely different.

Scroll down to meet the cast of Made In Chelsea...

'The characters are so posh, their accents and everything! I couldn't stop laughing watching it.'

Meanwhile, her TOWIE co-star Amy Childs was even more dismissive of the show on her Twitter account. She said: 'These people need vajazzles and the ompa lumpa tans ....Turned off o dear. yawn xxxx'

As for being on Loose Women, it was a television show that got the thumbs up from the Faiers sisters.

Billie wrote on her Twitter afterwards: 'Loved being on loose women this morning !! Was great !! So glad they loved their goody bags from @MinniesBoutique!! Xx'

Reality stars: The sisters run their own business Minnie's Boutique as well as appearing on TOWIE

The sisters had given the four presenters goody bags from their new venture Minnie's - and were photographed with them afterwards.

The Faiers sisters also confirmed again that their dream customer at their new clothes shop would be Kate Middletopn, the new Duchess of Cambridge.

Sam said: 'Obviously, we're the complete opposite, we're Essex girls with an Essex boutique, and she's like royalty, but we've got some nice evening wear that she'd like.'

Billie revealed that their shop was now on the hen party trail too.

Goodie bags all round: Sam posted up a pic of herself and her sister giving Denise Welch, Andrea McLean, Carol McGiffin and Cilla Black gifts from their shop Minnie's Boutique

She said: 'In our shop we get loads of like people from up north, Scotland, lots of groups of girls coming down on hen weekends, they're coming in Minnie's then going up Sugar Hut that night.'

However, she mused: 'We have more fans out of Essex than we do in Essex, definitely.'

The second series of TOWIE finished last week with a raucous pool party, several bust-ups and plenty of chances to see Mark Wright’s he-vage.

Sam then immediately flew off to Mallorca for a few days holiday with new boyfriend Joey Essex.

With Sam in a bright pink bikini and Joey in multi-coloured swimming shorts, the pair could barely keep their hands off each other as they relaxed on the beach.

She then tweeted two pictures from the couple's short break, one of a heart in the sand containing both her and Essex's initials, and one of the pair grinning for the camera with their arms around one another.

Essex told his Twitter followers yesterday: 'Landed, wish I was still in spain! Was roasting this morning!!! :('

TOWIE is due back on our screens later this year.

Made In Chelsea meanwhile, which follows west London socialite Caggie Dunlop and her group of friends, is on this Monday at 10pm on E4.

'It's so bad it's hysterical': New reality show Made In Chelsea doesn't live up to the hype as viewers label it 'banal and boring'

By Sarah Bull

Drama: The show follows the lives of Caggie Dunlop and her friends as they enjoy their privileged lifestyles in Chelsea

It had been marketed as the new The Only Way Is Essex.

But last night E4's new reality show Made In Chelsea failed to live up to the hype as its premiere caused viewers to flock to Twitter in their thousands to pass judgment.

While many labelled it 'banal' and 'boring', others said the programme, which follows the lives of the rich and privileged in one of London's most exclusive areas, was so badly staged it was laughable.

One wrote: 'I'm watching the biggest bag of rubbish Madeinchelsea what a load of crap!!! It's so bad it's hysterical...r these people reading a script?!'

Another added: 'Just watched the first 10mins of Made in Chelsea.why are our reality shows so staged and fake... they just don't even try!'

Others said the programme, which follows socialtie Caggie Dunlop and her group of friends, lacked the appeal of The Only Way Is Essex because the characters were not as likeable.

One viewer tweeted: 'Well, that was the biggest group of unlikeable people I've seen for a while #MadeinChelsea.'

While another wrote: 'Bored already !! Limp hair .. No lashes .. Boring banter !! MASSIVE bore !! Not a patch on Us ESSEX boatys !!'

Love triangle: Caggie's relationship with Spencer Matthews, who has a girlfriend, was the focus of the programme

Jealous: Francis Boulle watched jealously with his friend Fredrik as Caggie chatted to Spencer

The show opened with a monologue from central character Caggie, who promised viewers: 'In Chelsea the truth is more fabulous than fiction.'

She added: 'You might say that we have it all but having whatever you want can make choosing that much more tricky.'

Sure enough, a love triangle quickly unfolded between Caggie, Spencer Matthews and his girlfriend Funda.

As Spencer attended socialite Amber Atherton's jewellery launch at Raffles nightclub with his friend Hugo Taylor, Hugo asked him if there was ever a chance of him and Caggie being together.

Excited! Chelsea's very own gossip girl Francesca Hull (left) and Alexandra 'Binky' Felstead arrive at London's Raffles club

Hilarious: Mark's laugh and comments about high-street fashion were one of the funniest points of the programme

To which Spencer replied: 'I would be surprised if at some point in our lives, Caggie and I didn't not hook up.'

But Spencer wasn't the only one interested in getting to know Caggie a little better, as Francis Boulle had also set his sights on the leggy IT girl.

Asked by friend Fredrik Ferrier what he liked about Caggie, Francis replied: 'Caggie is pretty cheeky. She's got great lips and she's funny. Maybe she's the perfect girl.

'I think maybe she's a potential suitor.'

Party time: Amber Atherton enjoys herself at her jewellery launch with pal Rosie Fortescue

Snub: Amber turns down Hugo Taylor's advance when he asks her out in the club

But it wasn't only Caggie's lovelife which was under scrutiny at the nightclub, as the evening's hostess Amber also attracted some (unwanted) attention.

Attempting, and failing, to hide her annoyance as she was approached by Hugo, Amber then proceeded to refuse both his request to be her friend on Facebook and his invitation to go out for a drink.

When asked why his friend request was still pending, Amber replied: 'I find the whole concept of Facebook really strange because you can just basically stalk someone.'

Long-haired brigade: Both Ollie and Fredrik appear very proud of their long locks

The jewellery launch was covered by Francesca 'Cheska' Hull for her Girl About Town blog, and one of the funniest lines came when she was interviewing a partygoer about what he likes and dislikes in a potential partner.

The man, named only as Mark, replied: 'Topshop is a complete turn-off. High street fashion is never allowed under any circumstances.'

He then added: 'Big hair is a definite turn on.'

Waiting game: Caggie is upset after her calls to Spencer before her first live show go unanswered

Controversial: Spencer's decision to go to the show and leave girlfriend Funda behind causes problems

Another of the evening's classic lines came from Alexandra 'Binky' Felstead who, while enjoying a drink and a chat with Cheska and pal Ollie Locke, thought hard about who had written Winnie The Pooh, replying eventually: 'Was it Charles Dickens?'

The love triangle between Caggie, Spencer and Francis reached a new peak when the men went to see Caggie sing at her first public gig.

Despite leaving him countless messages before taking to the stage, Spencer didn't arrive until almost halfway through her performance, whereas Francis was there from the beginning.

And Francis also appeared to be attempting to woo Caggie properly, taking her a pink rose as congratulations after the live set.

However, Caggie only had eyes for Spencer, leaving Francis' rose on the table as she left to 'grab a bite' with Spencer, much to his girlfriend's disgust.

In fact, when Funda found out about Spencer's late-night rendezvous with Caggie she was furious, leading Spencer to confide in Huge that he wasn't sure what to do and whether or not to break up with Funda to make a go of it with Caggie.

Starstruck: Despite arriving late, Spencer appears smitten as soon as Caggie starts to sing

What happens next? Things are now frosty between Spencer and Funda

He said: 'I haven't done anything wrong at the moment but I don't want to do the wrong thing by Funda.'

Another of the evening's romances came from Ollie and girlfriend Gabriella. Despite his overtly-camp attitude suggesting Ollie was gay, the long-haired lothario proved to be straight when he went for dinner with Gabriella and greeted her with a big kiss on the lips.

But the relationship seems to be slightly one-sided as, when Gabriella launched a series of massive compliments at Ollie, he replied: 'That's very sweet'.

The anti-Essex: Made In Chelsea stars rich girls (on floor) Milly Mackintosh, (standing L-R) Amber Atherton, Alexandra Felstead, Francesca Hull (sitting L-R) Rosie Fortescue, Caggie Dunlop and Gabriella Ellis

Polo players and diamond heirs: (L-R) Ollie Locke, Spencer Matthews, Fredrik Ferrier, Francis Boulle and Hugo Taylor join the girls

She said: 'You're the first person I've actually been with who I feel comfortable with because I think we're very similar.'

And when Gabriella pushed Ollie as to what he thought of her, he replied: 'I like you a lot, you're a wonderful, wonderful person', before changing the subject by saying: 'Those eyelashes look exceptional!'

While verdicts on last night's show proved less than complimentary, the long-term success of Made In Chelsea remains to be seen.

Penelope Cruz on dream job with Pirates Of The Caribbean star

By JODY THOMPSON

Firm friends: Penelope Cruz, seen here with Johnny Depp at the Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides premiere in Los Angeles last week, said he's always making her laugh

Spanish beauty Penelope Cruz has revealed that she only knew two phrases in English when she moved to the U.S. to try and make it in the movies - and one of them was 'I want to work with Johnny Depp'.

The star, who turned 37 last month, revealed that it was her dream to work with the 47-year-old star - and that the only other English words she knew when she arrived in Hollywood were 'How are you?'

Penelope, who was born in a suburb of Madrid, first worked with Johnny a decade ago in movie Blow and they have remained close friends ever since - so she explained she jumped at the chance to work with him again on Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

On set: Johnny, Penelope and Ian McShane in a still from the forthcoming new movie

She explained: 'When I first came to America I only knew two phrases in English. One was, "How are you?" and the other was, "I want to work with Johnny Depp."

'Then after I worked with him on Blow, I learned how to say, "I want to work with Johnny Depp again!" He’s very addictive and he just gets better and better over the years.'

Shiver me timbers: Penelope plays Angelica in the movie, an old flame of Johnny's Captain Jack Sparrow, and the daughter of Ian McShane's Blackbeard

However, she explained there was a slight problem with working with him again - trying not to laugh during shooting.

She told the Mirror: 'The only problem is he has a very peculiar sense of humour – and even though I know all his tricks, he can still crack me up.

'I can’t stop laughing when we are working so we had a few problems on the set. One time we were stuck for two hours and couldn’t finish the scene because we couldn’t stop laughing.'

Avast me hearties! Huge banners advertising Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides went up on the facade of the Carlon Hotel in Cannes ahead of the 64th Cannes Film Festival this month

Oscar-winner Penelope also revealed that they have a shared love of animated comedy show South Park - and Johnny created a fancy dress outfit based on the show's Mr Hanky The Christmas Poo that she had to wear as a forfeit on set.

Penelope laughed: 'Johnny made this outfit for me and we had a bet which I lost. And I had to wear the Poo outfit on the set.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides opens in cinemas on May 18.

Too saucy? Never! Britain's Got Talent troupe Girls Roc promise there's 'much more to come'

By SARAH BULL

New celebrities: Girls Roc, along with team leader Nicola Wills (far right), pose outside the ITV studios after being interviewed on This Morning

They stunned the Britain's Got Talent judges on Saturday night with their mixture of fire-breathing, aerial tricks and sexy dancing.

But, despite many complaining Girls Roc's act was too saucy to air pre-watershed, the troupe have insisted they have no intention of toning things down, and promised there's 'much more to come'.

The group made their promises during an interview on This Morning today, where they made the most of their new-found celebrity status by posing sexily for photographers outside the ITV studios.

Posing up: Girls Roc show off their best poses as photographers clamber to get the most exciting shots of the troupe

So exciting! Nicola told Phillip Schofield and Ruth Langsford the group were more excited about appearing on This Morning than on Britain's Got Talent

Slippery friend: Schofield got up close and personal with the girls' snake Slinky Sebastian on the show

Asked on This Morning how the group had formed, Nicola said: 'About a year ago I got an opportunity to put something together and we were all friends anyway and we thought why don't we use what we have and develop it using fire skills and using different props that we have and put together a troop and we did.... We've had a few accidents with hair setting on fire!'

When the Britain's Got Talent judges asked Nicola what makes a 'Girls Roc girl', she replied: 'First of all, they've got to be exceptionally hot.

'They've got to have the attitude, no wimps. We know we're good at what we do. We want to show everyone. This is it. This is where it all begins.'

Controversial: Many deemed the group's performance on Saturday night too saucy for the pre-watershed slot

While McIntyre labelled the girls' audition 'a bit too much', fellow judge Amanda Holden argued that it was 'just right'.

She said: 'Girls, I love girls that are naughty. I think that it was dangerous. I think it was well put together.

'It was exciting. There was something for everybody. You've all got great bottoms. I thought you brought something different.'
