Friends Applaud NeNe For Quitting 'Apprentice'

http://craignj.files.wordpress.com/2010/10/nene-leakes.jpgWith celebrities, respected journalists and interest groups lobbing the racist label at Donald Trump, friends of Nene Leakes tell Rob Shuter of Pop Eater that quitting Celebrity Apprentice in a shocking -- and low-rated -- episode on Sunday was a smart, principled move.

"Everything will ultimately work out for NeNe," a friend of the Real Housewives of Atlanta star tells him. "In the long run she was much better off to quit and walk away than get a job with Donald Trump."

It should be noted that each celebrity is playing to raise money for their charity rather than get a job within Trump's organization. It should also be noted that the Celebrity Apprentice you're seeing on Sundays was taped months ago, before The Donald's now-floundering bid for the White House and string of attacks on President Obama that many believe reek of racism.

CBS news anchor Bob Schieffer hit Donald recently after he raised doubts about President Obama's school grades. "That's just code for saying he got into law school because he's black," he said. "This is an ugly strain of racism that's running through this whole thing."

Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Cosby, Robert De Niro, Rosie O'Donnell and David Letterman have also spoken out.

The political advocacy group Color of Change has called on all black cast members to boycott the show and one fired "applicant" told Shuter that they would shun the finale if their contract didn't stipulate they had to be there.

On Monday morning, Donald appeared on FOX News to try and dispel the charges he's racist.

"I am the least racist person there is," he said. "And I think most people who know me would tell you that. I am the least racist, I've had great relationships."

NeNe's fellow 'Housewife' (well, from NYC) Ramona Singer isn't buying it.

"Well, anyone who makes a racist remark is showing their opinion and where their mind is at," Ramona tells him.

Ramona Singer: Bethenny Didn't Make $120 Mill

Real Housewives of New York star Ramona Singer has just released her own wine, but isn't a fan of Bethenny Frankel's Skinnygirl Margarita and doesn't believe for a second that the ex-wife really snagged $120 million for her company.

"Oh no, she likes to exaggerate," Ramona tells Rob Shuter on his HDNet show. "It's rumored, remember? It didn't say fact. Rumored."

Rumored as in the Hollywood Reporter citing insiders that have placed her deal to sell the Skinnygirl coctail line to Beam Global for a cool $120 mil.

"I was thinking before that figure came out she got about $30 million total," Ramona said. "And divided that between her and her partners David, and usually they do a pay out, they don't give you the money up front, they pay you out over time."

Ramona who likes to tell it like it is, says Jill Zarin has changed the most since the show started filming its fourth season on Bravo. "She's become quite full of herself. I'm the same. I'm a little unedited, a little bit of an unfiltered mouth. I don't talk behind your back, I talk about you right to your face."

Ramona Singer Disses Bethenny’s Actions

http://cdn.blogs.sheknows.com/realitytvmagazine.sheknows.com/2010/03/the-real-housewives-of-new-york-ramona-singer-bethenny-frankel.bmp

Although it seemed like Real Housewives of New York City star Ramona Singer was friends with Bethenny Frankel, she is now dissing her for her actions on her own reality TV show.

Singer admits that she is impressed with Frankel’s ability to handle all she is doing right now, but she doesn’t agree with her treatment of some others, states The Miami Herald.

“How could she not embrace her child’s grandparents?” Singer said about Frankel having a hard time spending a lot of time with her in-laws, “That was shocking to me.”

Ramona Singer's Take On RHONY Season 4

Bravo has announced that "The Big Apple" drama returns April 7.

This season features another changing of the guard. Bethenny Frankel has moved on to her own show and there's a new housewife, the queen of "Vajazzle," spa owner Cindy Barshop. And make no mistakes about it, the season looks like we're in store for some riotous catfights.

"It's going to be the best season ever," cast member Ramona Singer tells Zap2it. "Last year, I was the peacemaker, but this year I definitely get into some confrontations with the women. I get very 'Ramo-tional.'"

Ramona tells us that her daughter, Avery, is getting ready to leave for college and the housewife says she had to prepare for the empty nest by getting real with the people around her -- and you thought Ramona couldn't get more real!

"This season, I wanted to find out who are my real friends, because I need to fill the void when [Avery's] gone," she says. "Because even though I have my businesses and I have my husband, my daughter is a lot of my life. So, that's what I did this season, I dealt with my friendships. I had some major altercations with some of the women."

Ramona tells us that while the process of renewal is so last season, we'll be seeing some interesting factions form among the New York city gals.

"In Season 1 and 2, Alex [McCord] would walk into a room and I'd walk out," Ramona tells us as an example of the changes in the group dynamics. "Now, I can't keep my hands off her. I love her, I adore her. We have the best time."

Ramona Singer Opens Up About 'Roofie' Incident

http://www.radaronline.com/sites/radaronline.com/files/imagecache/350width/POSTbackTHREEwaySPLIT.jpgThe Real Housewives of Orange County got an unwelcome dose of reality the other night after an unidentified man at a bar allegedly “roofied” a couple of the leading ladies, enticing Ramona Singer to urge fans: “Never take a drink from a stranger”, she tells Radar Online exclusively.

News of the incident surfaced when Tamra Barney chatted with Andy Cohen on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live! last Sunday, claiming: "I got roofied,” referring to the date rape drug Rohypnol.

The reality stars from west and east coasts, including Orange County’s Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra, and newbie Peggy Tanous, met up with Ramona at a bar in New York City a few days ago.

“So many fans came over and said ‘we love you guys,’” recalled Ramona.

And right before they called it a night, a middle-aged gentleman came over with drinks in hand.

“He sat next to Tamra and Peggy and said, ‘I have a special drink for you two ladies.’ Obviously he was watching them and decided to buy them drinks.

“Tamra drank only part of her drink, but Peggy drank all of it, poor thing.

“We all left as they finished their drinks and they got back to their hotel 20 minutes later and felt the effects,“ Ramona added.

Vicki was able to take care of the women in their affected state.

“Thankfully, Vicki was there because they almost had to go to the hospital.

“I think it’s a lesson for everyone to learn -- Never take a drink from a stranger,” Ramona said adamantly.

She added that the ladies aren’t pursuing this further, considering they don’t even know the man’s name.

“Thank god it wasn’t more serious.”

Come April 7, Jill Zarin, Alex McCord, LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon, Sonja Morgan and newcomer Cindy Barshop will be back on the air, the network announced via their BravoTV.com The Dish blog Monday.

"From the gang's glamorous jaunt to Morocco, to our already-favorite dig "thug in a cocktail dress" (delivered by the ultimate messenger, Alex McCord), to the Countess finding love again, the new season will definitely be worth the wait," the Bravo blog post read.

Brooklyn-based cast member McCord agrees, and tells Us Magazine fans should clear their calendars for Thursday nights.

"I think this is definitely the best season so far," McCord tells Us. "[But] there was no way they were going to get [editing] done in time."

The Real Housewives of New York City premieres April 7 at 10 p.m. (EST) on Bravo.
